The Host profile is the first thing WWOOFers see before deciding to get in touch. It’s how people understand who is behind the project, what the place is like, what they will be doing, and what daily life looks like. A clear and realistic profile makes all the difference in the quality of the requests received and of the experiences.
To help Hosts build more complete and effective profiles, WWOOF Portugal has created a new resource: the Host Profile Guide.
What is this guide?
It’s a practical document, designed specifically for Hosts, divided into sections. For each one, you will find guiding questions to help you find the right words, even if writing isn’t your strong point.
The guide includes guidance for six main sections: introduction and presentation of the project, farm description, tasks and activities, learning opportunities, cultural exchange, accommodation, meals and rules. At the end, it also includes a complete example profile to serve as inspiration.
Who is it useful for?
For Hosts who are creating their profile for the first time, but also for improving and updating your profile. There is no need to follow the guide word for word – the goal is for each Host to write in their own voice.
